Fabian Terminals™
Fabian Energy (K) Ltd. is on course to construct and operate the Fabian Terminals at Maya Island in Kilifi County. This shall comprise a jetty for berthing and unloading IMO classified Coastal and Aframax class tankers, 52500 metric tons onshore storage for LPG, together with facilities for ship-to-shore transfer, shore-to-truck transfer, port access control, customs control, and shall serve as the company headquarters for Fabian Energy (K) Ltd.
Fabian Terminals shall also host a 3000 cylinders-per-hour LPG Cylinder Filling Plant, which is mean’t to serve both in-house and external brands of LPG cylinders.
The road access to Fabian Terminals is via road C107 (i.e., Kilifi – Mariakani Highway). From road C107 at the Dzitsoni center, one negotiates into Dzitsoni – Jaribuni Road and travels northwards approx. 9 km upto the Kaya Kauma sacred Mijikenda Forests. From this road, one turns right into the Maya Island feeder road and travels eastwards approx. 11km until you get to Maya Island.
The Fabian Terminals shall open up the sleepy village of Jaribuni and shall spur ecomonic growth of Kilifi County by generating 1000 direct jobs in the operations and maintenance phase. Likewise, the presence of an international sea port in Kilifi shall open up the region to countless investments in the corporate sector, Blue Economy, the oil and gas industry, the agricultural sector and the manufacturing industry.
Oil marketing companies (OMCs) who are duely registered to trade in liquefied petroleum gas can elect to use Fabian Terminals to warehouse and lift their imported product.

Fabian Energy (K) Ltd. is poised to enter the retail LPG market in the East African Community, with phase I being 12 bulk stations and 500 retail outlets in nineteen counties in Kenya, i.e., Mombasa, Kwale, Kilifi, Machakos, Makueni, Trans Nzoia, Nakuru, Kajiado, Vihiga, Kakamega, Bungoma, Busia, Siaya, Kisumu, Homabay, Migori, Kisii, Nyamira and Nairobi City.
Fabian Energy (K) Ltd. intends to launch a total of 570,000 LPG cylinders of its brand of cooking gas i.e., FabianGas™ in Phase I into the market, of which 50% shall be 3 Kg. standard capacity cylinders while 50% shall be 13Kg. standard capacity cylinders. FEKL intends to move away from the current practise by OMCs of retailing LPG through third-party traders, by establishing 12 FabianGas™ Cylinder Bulk Stations and 500 FabianGas™ Cylinder Exchange Stations across the counties above, which shall be interconnected by the FabianGas™ Cylinder Exchange Management and Information System (CEMIS©) available both on desktop and android.
This customer-focused approach is aimed at availing FabianGas™ 100% at the customer’s fingertips. We believe that this approach towards safe handling of cooking gas cylinders at the retail level shall set a precedent to a national standard on the safety and handling of liquefied petroleum gas cylinders in retail stations.
Fabian Energy also intends to market FabianGas™ through metered connections in gated communities with a marketing threshold of 75 consumers connected to a single grid with a capacity of 1000 Kg. In this business line, FEKL shall Engineer, Procure, Construct, Commission, Operate, Maintain, and retain ownership of real eastate LPG capital infrastructure, and shall only retail the product, in an effort to minimize capital expenditure on real-estate developers whilst maximizing on the uptake of LPG by end consumers.

The Fabian Engineering Center shall serve both as a production factory, and as a research and development center for LPG equipment and machinery.
The Fabian Engineering Center shall have two adaptable fully automated production lines for 3 kg., 6kg. and 13 kg. standard capacity AISI 304 LPG cylinders, two adaptable production lines for pressure vessels upto a maximum capacity of 150mt and various types of storage tanks (with a maximum Diameter of 12m and a maximum Length of 75m), several automated 5-axis multitasking centers, several automated body forming equipment, and several state-of-the-art mechanical fabrication equipment.

According to the Global LPG Partnership (GLPGP) – Kenya Market Assessment, Final Report, updated August 28, 2013, “87% of Kenyans use solid fuels as their primary fuel source for cooking while 5% use kerosene as a primary fuel.” Further, “Less than 5% of Kenyans use LPG as their primary cooking fuel, with 5% is using kerosene and less than 1% using improved biomass cook stoves.” The GLPG report further cited that, “57% of urban residents and 22% of rural residents currently pay for non-LPG fuel, suggesting an upper bound of ~14.5M as the addressable market for LPG.”
The aspiration of Fabian Energy (K) Ltd. is to market LPG at a Price Less than $1.5/Kg. These prices support the predictions of the GLPGP Report, which predicts that: “LPG end-user cost can be reduced by at least 20% in Kenya to $2/Kg,” a cost reduction which shall see an increase in the National average uptake of LPG as the Primary Cooking Fuel from the current 23.4% to over 70%.
